Stellar Ministries is pleased to showcase Lenaxa Chrisitan Center, which is in, Lenaxa, KS.  Lenaxa Chrisitan Center began in 1985 by Pastor Mike Purkey.  Today the Lenaxa Chrisitan Center’s current Pastor is Matt Purkey, who is the son of Mike Purkey.  Lenaxa Chrisitan Center has had a mighty impact for the Kingdom!  The church in 1988 moved onto a 14-acre property and built a 160,000 sq foot church building.  Not far away is Interstate 435, where people have quick access to this booming church. 

Pastor Matt Pukey offers a mixture of old and new in the church’s ministry.  The church follows the Assembly of God’s Fundamental Truths while allowing worship to be led by Phil Stacey, who was a 2007 American Idol finalist.  Matt Purkey has a philosophy of “be modern in my efforts but ancient in my beliefs.”  The congregation is multi-racial and multi-generational.  At Lenaxa Christian Church, there is an environment where everyone feels welcomed, at home, and there is something for everyone.  No one is left out! 

Ps 147:1 Praise the LORD. How good it is to sing praises to our God, how pleasant and fitting to praise him!

Ps 147:2 The LORD builds up Jerusalem; he gathers the exiles of Israel.

Ps 147:3 He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.

Ps 147:4 He determines the number of the stars and calls them each by name.

Ps 147:5 Great is our Lord and mighty in power; his understanding has no limit.

Ps 147:6 The LORD sustains the humble but casts the wicked to the ground.

Ps 147:7 Sing to the LORD with grateful praise; make music to our God on the harp.

Ps 147:8 He covers the sky with clouds; he supplies the earth with rain and makes grass grow on the hills.

Ps 147:9 He provides food for the cattle and for the young ravens when they call.

Ps 147:10 His pleasure is not in the strength of the horse, nor his delight in the legs of the warrior;

Ps 147:11 the LORD delights in those who fear him, who put their hope in his unfailing love.

Ps 147:12 Extol the LORD, Jerusalem; praise your God, Zion.

Ps 147:13 He strengthens the bars of your gates and blesses your people within you.

Ps 147:14 He grants peace to your borders and satisfies you with the finest of wheat.

Ps 147:15 He sends his command to the earth; his word runs swiftly.

Ps 147:16 He spreads the snow like wool and scatters the frost like ashes.

Ps 147:17 He hurls down his hail like pebbles. Who can withstand his icy blast?

Ps 147:18 He sends his word and melts them; he stirs up his breezes, and the waters flow.

Ps 147:19 He has revealed his word to Jacob, his laws and decrees to Israel.

Ps 147:20 He has done this for no other nation; they do not know his laws. Praise the LORD.
