Thinking this burden would be fulfilled by defending his country through military service, he enlisted in the US Army; however, he found this wasn’t the answer. After his combat tour to the Middle East and upon returning to his duty station of Fort Bragg, NC, the burden resurfaced. But this time, it was different. As his final months of active military service was closing, Omar Garcia of HOPCC saw the need was more personal. In order to help others, he must first give his life to Jesus Christ and experience salvation in his own life. Today, he, his wife, and his two daughters are inspired to serve the Lord and remain a family together in Christ from that life-altering decision.
