Stellar Ministries is glad to feature Pastor Rick Warren, the founder and Senior Pastor of Saddleback Church in Southern California.  Rick Warren was born in San Jose, California; his father was a Baptist minister, and his mother was a high school librarian.  Rick Warren graduated high school in 1972 and founded the first Christian club on the school’s campus.  Moreover, Rick Warren pursued theological studies at the California Baptist University and the Southwestern Baptist theological seminary in Fort Worth, Texas.  Finally, he received a Dr. of Ministry degree from Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, California. 

Rick Warren is also known as the author of the Purpose Driven Life.  This book became widely known and read all over the world.  The book is a motivational book that detailed the philosophy in which Rick Warren operated his ministry.  In addition, he distilled many of the lessons he had learned while starting Saddleback Church and working with people.

Barack Obama chose Pastor Rick Warren to give the opening prayer during his inauguration ceremony on January 20, 2009.  In addition, he has been spoken at many events and churches.  Warren has been married to his wife Kay since 1975.  They have three children and four grandchildren.  Pastor Rick Warren continues to serve as the Saddleback Pastor in Southern California.
